Representatives of the Czech Republic and the Federal Republic of Germany have discussed the issue of financial sanctions

On March 16, 2016 a workshop between representatives of the judiciary from the Czech Republic and the Federal Republic of Germany, on the initiative of the Czech Republic, held in Prague, in which both sides have discussed problematic issues. It was about questions being engaged by the judicial authorities in practice and currently hinder the smooth recognition and enforcement of decisions on fines or other financial penalties in the two countries.

This working meeting was followed by the Czech-German practical workshop of the mutual cooperation on the recognition and enforcement of judgments on the basis of the Framework Decision 2005/214 / SVV of the Council of February 24, 2005 aimed on the application of the principle of mutual recognition of financial penalties, the representative of the Czech judiciary participated in this practical workshop on September 30, 2014 in Berlin.

During the meeting the following issues were discussed: the recognition and enforcement of decisions on the repayment obligation of the legal costs, the effects of the judgment of the European Union, 15. 10. 2015 in Case C-216/14 Gavril Covaci on the recognition and enforcement of decisions of the German authorities relating to the fines or other financial services in the Czech Republic and other practical aspects of the application of the above framework decision.
